Learn about composting, poisonous plants, how to attract helpful bugs and move the harmful ones on their way. Discover how to plant in containers or raised beds.

GREEN THUMB WORKSHOPS
Enjoy the beauty of the season strolling through the beautiful gardens of The Hudson Gardens & Event Center. These classes are taught by gardening and art professionals. You may view the gardens from 4-5 pm prior to your class session. Check in at the Gift Shop and identify yourself as an ACC class participant for that day. Additionally, meet your instructor 10 minutes prior to the class start time at the gazebo located in front of the gift shop at the main parking area. Classes are held in the Hudson Residence, a one-story home located northwest of the gazebo.

International Chocolate and Wine Pairing

International speaker and Colorado author Julie Pech (The Chocolate Therapist) hosts this unique pairings evening, beginning with a sampling of chocolates from five different countries. Discover how chocolate is made. Hone your chocolate connoisseur skills as you compare and contrast different flavors, nuances and textures of chocolate. Enjoy a custom chocolate and wine pairing. Four artisal wines from around world are a paired with specially selected chocolates infused with nuts, spices and berries-chosen for their ability to enhance the flavors of both the chocolate and the wine. Receive an information folder highlighting which chocolates were served and where to buy them. *Receive a “goodie” bag and bring home extra chocolates from the lavish collection offered. ECO Projects

Discover the fun of going green! Each week is a new adventure as we explore ways to reuse, recycle, and reduce our carbon footprint. Make a solar oven and cook some food. Get proven recipes including cake. Stitch together a T-shirt tote, weave T-shirt rugs, and create denim organizers from old jeans. The materials list, distributed at first class, can be collected at home or on a scavenger hunt at the local Savers or Goodwill.

Gail Nelson began teaching adult continuing education classes 25 years ago. She has since taught a variety of workshops and Artist in Residence classes in many different subjects. Gail is also a children’s book illustrator, an award-winning artist, graphic designer, author, and nutrition nanny.

We’re going to identify its key elements and talk about how you can use it to set your intentions for change and results.
