Nursing Homepage | Pre-requisites and Application Process | Frequently Asked Questions | Degree (ADN) | Curriculum The ACC nursing program is an Associate Degree nursing (ADN) program that prepares the graduate to take the RN licensure examination and to work as a registered nurse. The program consists of nursing and non-nursing courses. This program is designed to prepare individuals for employment as registered nurses. This practitioner will have developed entry-level skills for work in hospitals and other settings. Clinical nursing courses include supervised patient care experiences at a variety of health care agencies. Upon successful completion of program requirements, the graduate is eligible to take the NCLEX-/CAT/-RN: (National Council Licensing Examination/Computer Adaptive Test/Registered Nursing). CPR (Healthcare Provider), a health statement, a background check, random drug screens, proof of health insurance, professional liability insurance coverage of $1,000,000/$3,000,000 and current immunization documentation is required for clinical practice throughout the program. Nursing Degree and Certificate Requirements AAS Nursing Advising Sheet 2008-09 Practical Nursing Certificate Advising Sheet 2008-09 - NOTE: ADN students have the option to take the LPN licensing exam at the end of the first year of nursing course work. The Practical Nurse (PN) certificate is available only to those students who have been accepted into the ADN program and have completed all pre-requisites, the first two semester courses of the Associate Degree Nursing program and NUR 169.
