Student Loan Money Is Still Available! Due to current economic conditions fewer banks are providing loans to community college students. To ensure you have continued access to loans to help finance your college education, ACC will join other state community colleges in offering federal Direct Lending Program beginning with the spring 2009 semester. Students and parents will now borrow student loans directly from the federal government rather than from banks or private lenders. You WILL NOT be required to convert your current spring 2009 loans to Direct Lending if you have loans completed with a private lender (CollegeInvest, Sallie Mae, US Bank, etc), unless you would like to switch to a Direct Stafford Loan. Open sessions will be available to assist you in transitioning to Direct Lending on November 18th and 24th from 10-11:30am and 3-4:30pm in Room A1120. Eligibility Guidelines
You must:
- Be enrolled in ACC minimum half-time as a regular student.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Be making satisfactory progress in your course of study.
- Not be in default on a Federal Student Loan at any educational
institution.

Not be owed a refund on a Federal Grant at any educational institution.
